Wardrobe Wednesday: Leather and Sequins

Leather and sequins are two of this girl's favorite things! Let's start with the sparkles, shall we?

This look is one of my favorites. This sequin lipstick sweatshirt is great over a chambray top or with leggings and converse (how I wear it almost every other time!) but I have to say I'm almost always a fan of the layers!

Sequin Sweatshirt: Target; Chambray Top: Old Navy; Maxi Skirt: Old Navy; Leopard Print Sneakers: Target; Bracelets: Express

And lastly, leather is a trend that is always on trend but never too trendy. (Say that five times fast!) Just ask Sandra Dee or Madonna or Diane Von Furstenburg or Rhianna or Taylor Swift or Coco Chanel. Okay, you get my point. Leather isn't going anywhere...and that's fine by me!

Leather leggings: Agnes and Dora; Polka Dot Blouse: Lauren Conrad for Kohls; Green Pumps: DSW; Bracelets: Express and Old Navy; Earrings: Stolen from my little sister

What have you guys been wearing?

Wardrobe Wednesday: The Floral Trend (Muted) Featuring Friends

I AM OBSESSED WITH FLORAL FOR SPRING!
Whew. That's been building up for a while.

Alas, though, it's raining. It's not quite spring yet. Here are a few floral looks as of late that are floral, but not as springy as I intend to get in the next few weeks/months. They're more muted down and can work pretty much all year round. And it's also featuring some of my friends!

Here I really wanted to wear floral without screaming "FLORAL" into someone's face. I paired this floral chambray button up with a cardigan and bright pencil skirt. I liked the textured tights as a contrast against the patterned top. I felt like it kept me from being too "matchy". Don't judge me for saying "matchy"... that's a thing...my fashion friends understand...
Floral Chambray Top: Old Navy (old), Cardigan: Target, Pencil Skirt: Old Navy (Online where they sell sizes in "Tall" for Amazon women like me!, Pointed Toe Booties: Express, Necklace: Kohls (Gift from Hubs), Lace tights: Target, Bracelets: Express (old)

Finally, I'm dying over printed leggings (especially floral!) and these leggings make my day! Everyone needs to check out Agnes and Dora. You can read my review here, but not only are they beyond adorable, they're so comfortable. With a louder piece in your look, you can go simple with everything else (makeup, jewelry, etc.) which I love. Easier the better, right?! And apparently I wear a button up and cardigan quite often... Or cardigans in general... Seems a different one is popping up in every single look. Ha.
Chambray Top: Nordstrom Rack; Cardigan: Old Navy; Floral Leggings: Agnes and Dora; Boots: Steve Madden; Bracelets: Forever 21 and Express (old)
Now here are a few of my favorite people sporting one of my favorite trends in ways that can be worn all year round, not just in the spring.

This is my friend, Madi. We've been friends for ages and just this last week she wore an adorable burgandy and floral paneled cardigan.
Madi's Cardigan: My Sister's Closet
This picture was taken a few months ago with me and two of my friends, Diana and Emily. Diana is wearing floral leggings by Agnes and Dora and they look great!
Diana's Look:
Tunic: My Sister's Closet; Leggings: Agnes and Dora
Here is Ellie with her best friend (and Diana's daughter) Maylie. I love Maylie's little pants!
Maylie's Leggings: H&M
Ellie's skirt is one of my favorites on her. I feel like it transitions through the seasons so well! Also, it has pockets and it's absolutely adorable when she walks around with her little hands in her skirt pockets.
Ellie's Skirt: Fabkids.com
Some more floral on my Ellie-girl. This tunic of hers has been a go-to staple in her wardrobe for several different outfits lately!
Tunic: The Children's Place; Light Pink Leggings: The Children's Place; Bow: The Children's Place; White Flats: Payless

Bow: Anniston's Accessories; Dark Pink Leggings: Wal Mart; Patent Leather Boots: Ruum

And my friend, Emily. I love the floral with grey. It pulls fall, winter, spring and summer perfectly.
Emily's Top: H&M
Coming soon will be a VERY spring-ified floral look!
Adios!

Wardrobe Wednesday: Work Day and the Babies

Happy Wardrobe Wednesday, everyone! Here are a few looks from the last little while! Love to hear what you think or your ideas!

This first look was for work, and then my handsome hubby surprised me on his lunch break to drop off a much needed Dr. Pepper! Couldn't resist adding that to our mess of happiness!!

Yellow Top: Cotton On; Black and Leopard print Scarf: Nordstrom; Maroon Lace Skirt: My Sister's Closet; Black Lace Tights: Target; Grey T-Strap Pumps: Forever Young Shoes; Jewelry: Apricot Lane Boutique (Bracelets) and Old Navy (Earrings).  Frankly, who knows what Dan is wearing. We love him regardless. <3

----------

These sweet kids make me so happy. They look great, right? But it's more important to me that they treat each other right, and they do. I'm a proud mamma. No but really, they look great.
Landon- Grey cordouroy pants: Gymboree; Black Dress Shoes: The Children's Place; Button Down Top: The Children's Place; That Adorable Smile: His Handsome Daddy
Adelle- Black Onesie: Gerber; Denim Jacket: WalMart (really!); Floral Skirt: Justfabkids.com; Textured Tights: Target; Mary Jane Shoes: Payless; Black Headband: The Children's Place; Attitude: Her Mamma

-------

This sweet girl had a day-date with Mommy and picked her clothes out by herself! (I helped with the hair, though...) Love that she already loves to go through her drawers and closet to find things she wants to wear and put together. I love it even MORE when it works, so that I don't have to either just let her do it, or trick her into my idea! (I mean, no...I never do that...)

Skirt: Old Navy; Top: Wal Mart (again, really!); Opaque Black Tights: Target; Pink Combat Boots: Ruum; Coat: Costco (no lie...); Bows: Wal Mart

Hope you're all having a GREAT Wednesday!

Wardrobe Wednesday: From Sunday Best to Mechanic's Threads

Well hello, everyone!
First I just wanted to say thanks for the phenomenal turn out, I guess you could say, with respect to the giveaway last week for the Agnes and Dora leggings. It was so much fun, and the support from everyone meant a lot to me! Fashion is a huge passion for me (another post) and pulling these outfits will one day not just be what I do for fun on my blog or when collaborating with other designers or boutiques. IT WILL BE MY JOB, MARK MY WORDS.

Okay, onto some more fun stuff. Here are a few looks as of late. Happy Wardrobe Wednesday!

So this first look was just me and my babies before church one morning. We played with neutrals and a few pops of color. Ellie's whole outfit (minus her purse and shoes) was a Christmas gift from my Grandma Bonnie. She always does have great style. Especially when my Aunt Jill helps her pick things out. Thanks, ladies. Ellie looked beautiful. Though I couldn't get a full shot of my Landon (he's just so busy with very important things to do, ya know??) he felt nothing less than dapper that day, which he showed by telling everyone at church, "I look pretty great today." No lie.

Ellie-Dress: Children's Place; Cardigan: Children's Place; Heart Tights: Old Navy; Purse: Wal Mart; Bow: Children's Place; Shoes: Payless.
Landon-Pants (not pictured-Khaki slacks): Target; White Button-Up: Children's Place; Blue and Green Tie: Target
Me-Aztec Skirt: Old Navy (available in Tall, ladies!!); Chevron Tights: Target; Oxford Pumps: Sole Society; Chambray Top: Nordstrom; Nude Pullover Sweater: Old Navy; Jewelry: Old Navy

This second look was right before heading out to the concert that I blogged about here. Dan surprised me with a cute v-neck tee from Edelbrock, which is a company that he loves to buy car parts from. What can I say? I'm married to a mechanic. These jeans are the Rockstar line from Old Navy which they now sell in mid rise. (Ladies. Like, buy mid rise jeans. They don't look or feel like "mom jeans" but you hate your muffin top, I know you do because you're constantly grabbing the two belt loops closest to the button and doing the oh-so-flattering "up and over" routine. Please. Do this to help yourself and everyone behind you when you bend over to pick up your kids. Kthanks.) They also offer these in Tall and Long (not sure the difference...anyone want to enlighten me?) which I love because I love the slouchy look you can get from a great pair of skinnies and sneakers... but my legs are too long.UNTIL NOW!
TShirt: Gift from the hubby and Edelbrock; Jeans: Mid-rise Rockstar Skinnies from Old Navy; Shoes: Converse; Bracelet: Um. I forgot.

What did you all wear this week?! Link up!

Wardrobe Wednesday: Winter Tag Week 1

Howdy.

It's so freaking cold outside.

I went out to my car yesterday and it literally (I measured) had 7 inches of snow on it. A snow scraper did nothing. I legitimately shoveled the snow off of my car. In 4 inch stiletto boots (as you will see later), successfully, without falling or ruining said boots. I was much more worried about my boots than I was about finding my car under a mountain of snow.

So, here's week one of the challenge I was tagged in. I kind of didn't do a great job this week-just two outfits. But here ya go! Ghetto iphone style via my ghetto door mirror. You're welcome for making you feel better about your less ghetto life.

I have to (semi) dress up for work, but I'm on a small budget, people. I guess this is my way of handling my shopping addiction on a dime. You're gonna see a lot of brands like Target and Old Navy in this tag, but that's how I make it work. I'm all about mixing my $6 t-shirts with designer stuff. And there are a lot more $6 t-shirts involved than there are designer labels. It's how I roll. College student, people. Two kids. What it is.

Feel free to join in--leave your link in the comments. I specifically tag Becca, Jess, Malae, Jena...I think you guys would be so cute, and it's kinda fun. And I want to see what you're wearing! (In a non-creepy way...or creepy, if that's what you're into. No judgement.)

Cardigan: BellaElla Boutique, Tee: Kohls, Pencil Skirt: Old Navy, Tights: Target, Scarf: Old Navy, Boots: Steve Madden

Cardigan: Old Navy, Tee: Costco (no lie), High Waisted Pants: Rue 21, Flats: Old Navy, Scarf: Old Navy, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelets: Kohls

There ya have it! Link up! I wanna see what you're wearing ;)
(That joke might not ever get old.)

And speaking of Old Navy, until midnight tonight use the code FLASH online and get 30 % off, no exclusions. You're welcome.

Wardrobe Wednesday

Here is some old wardrobe Wednesday's from before the leaves changed color and the weather got just a bit colder. As for today, there is a leather jacket and scarf involved. But let's all think warm thoughts and go back to the summer for a minute, yes?

I've been loving on some stripes and neon lately:

Top: Old Navy, Bermuda shorts: Sexy Modest Boutique, Sandals: Forever 21, Watch: Michael Kors
Me: Top: Kohls, Skirt: Old Navy, Pumps: Target, Bracelet: a jewelry party
Landon: Who cares where it all came from. Look at that mug! ...handsome little devil!

As for now, I'm obsessed with fall fashion. My Pinterest is going haywire with all of the winter and fall ideas and I love layers, so these seasons are the best! Let's discuss how much I love black and white stripes, mustard yellow and leopard print together. Ya feel? Ya dig?

Me too.

Wardrobe Wednesday: Spring Accessories

Happy Wednesday, everyone!
So, it's springtime (almost summer), and I'm loving springtime accessories. I wanted to talk about them a bit and also show you some of the lovelies I've seem sporting cute spring-ish accessories.

So, as you guys probably know, I am a HUGE fan of a basic t-shirt with a cardigan. I think adding cute accessories like (my fav) converse and a cute hat makes a really basic outfit look fun.
And if you are looking to be a bit more girly for spring, adding a scarf is fun, and then you get to wear your winter scarves just a little bit longer before the stifling summer.
This beauty queen is rocking that hat, right? This is my girl, Kenzie. I've been so excited to show you all this outfit because I think she pulls it off so well. What a babe.
Hat: Alloy.com, Shirt: Urban outfitters, Jeans: Rock and Republic, Shoes: Alloy.com, Wallet: Urban Outfitters, Earrings: Lucky Penny Earrings

And this is Niki, and she's rocking a spring scarf. I love how she's using colors in this picture, too!! I love her look here.
And this cutie pie is Kristine. I think she looks so great in a spring scarf, too. I also love the colors that she's pulling together here. You can tell just by looking that this girl has great style.

I'm loving spring, and I think these gorgeous ladies are loving it, too!

Wardrobe Wednesday:RED!

It's that time, again!!

I'm loving the color red this week, and I've seen some lovelies wearing it beautifully.

Before we get to that, here are a few ways I think that red looks great:

Sometimes, you need to dress up!

And sometimes being comfy is the best thing ever!

And this gorgeous lady is Kim. She got her outfit at TJ Maxx. I love her shoes and her wallet! Her outfit is kind of an orange-red. It looks so good with her hair! She pulls the neutrals out of the red, and I love it.
This doll is my sister, again!! Her cardigan is the perfect color red for her. I think she looks so pretty. And she's rockin' those signature pearls! Kate contrasts the red with black, and she looks great.
And this is my absolute favorite red nail polish ever! The shade is "red carpet", and it looks great for at least 6 or so days without chipping at all (use a top coat!).

Let me know what you think!
